Week 6 – Beginning the mini-ethnography
Having spent time last week becoming familiar with some of the reading and ethical considerations around ethnography, it is now time to begin your study of an online educational community.
If you haven’t yet chosen a community to investigate, please do so now. You can be adding ethnographic artefacts to your gallery space within the Community Culture exhibition. In terms of striking the right balance within your gallery, the content and your reflections should look to tell a story about your chosen online community, rather than being a discussion of the nature of ethnography itself. As always, try and draw on the readings in the presentation of your chosen community, and reflect on the ethical dimensions of this sort of work. Comment on others unfolding work and James and I will be roaming through the galleries and commenting as well.
